Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.
(70 ILCS 1816/10) Sec. 10. Duties. The Commission has the following duties: (1) to coordinate and synchronize common efforts and |
| initiatives within the areas over which it has jurisdiction under this Act;

(2) to make recommendations to the Governor, the
|
| General Assembly, Congress, and federal agencies on regional issues that impact multimodal transportation, economic development, environmental sustainability, and climate resiliency within the areas over which it has jurisdiction under this Act;

|
(3) to coordinate and synchronize common efforts and
|
| initiatives with the Mid-America Port Commission and the Joliet Regional Port District;
|
|
(4) to coordinate and synchronize federal activities
|
| associated with the nonfederal sponsorship and development of the M-55 Illinois-Gulf Marine Highway; and
|
|
(5) to request funding or assist in requesting
|
| funding, as it deems necessary, for those areas over which it has jurisdiction under this Act.
