Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

70 ILCS 215/8

    (70 ILCS 215/8) (from Ch. 85, par. 1250.8)
Sec. 8. Appropriations may be made from time to time by the General Assembly to the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority for the payment of principal and interest of bonds of the Authority issued under the provisions of this Act and for any other lawful purpose of the Authority. Any and all of the funds so received shall be kept separate and apart from any and all other funds of the Authority. After there has been paid into the Metropolitan Fair and Exposition Authority Reconstruction Fund in the State Treasury sufficient money, pursuant to this Section and Sections 2 and 29 of the Cigarette Tax Act, to retire all bonds payable from that Fund, the taxes derived from Section 28 of the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975 which were required to be paid into that Fund pursuant to that Act shall thereafter be paid into the General Revenue Fund in the State Treasury.
