Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

25 ILCS 75/10

    (25 ILCS 75/10) (from Ch. 63, par. 42.91-10)
Sec. 10. Preparation of the note. Upon the request of the sponsor of a bill described in Section 5, the Director of Commerce and Economic Opportunity or some person within the Department designated by the Director shall prepare a written note setting forth the information required by Section 5. The note shall be designated a home rule note and shall be furnished to the sponsor within 10 calendar days after the request, except that whenever, because of the complexity of the bill, additional time is required for the preparation of the note, the Department may so notify the sponsor and request an extension of time not to exceed 5 additional days within which to furnish the note. An extension may not, however, be beyond June 15 following the date of the request.
