Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.

Sec. 2. Center for Business Ownership Succession and Employee Ownership.
(a) There may be created within the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs
(now Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity) the Center for Business Ownership Succession and Employee Ownership.
The purpose of the Center is to foster greater awareness of the most
effective techniques that facilitate business ownership succession and
employee ownership with an emphasis on the retention and creation of job
opportunities.
(b) The Center shall have the authority to do the following:
(1) Develop and disseminate materials to promote |
| effective business ownership succession and employee ownership strategies.

(2) Provide counseling to individual companies and
|
| referral services to provide professional advisors expert in the field of business ownership succession and employee ownership.
|
|
(3) Plan, organize, sponsor, or conduct conferences
|
| and workshops on business ownership succession and employee ownership issues.
|
|
(4) Network and contract with local economic
|
| development agencies, business organizations, and professional advisors to accomplish the goals of the Center.

(5) Raise money from private sources to support the
|
