Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.

Sec. 205-40. Export consulting service and standards. The
Department and, upon request, the
Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, shall (1) provide a consulting service to
those who desire to export farm products, commodities, and supplies
and
guide them in their efforts to improve trade relations; (2) cooperate
with agencies and instrumentalities of the federal government to develop
export grade standards for farm products, commodities, and supplies
produced in Illinois and adopt reasonable rules and regulations to
ensure that exports of those products,
commodities,
and supplies comply
with those standards; (3) upon request and after inspection of any
such
farm product, commodity, or supplies, certify compliance or noncompliance
with those standards; (4) provide an informational program to
existing
and potential foreign importers of farm products, commodities, and
supplies; (5) qualify for U. S. Department of Agriculture matching
funds for overseas promotion of farm products, commodities, and supplies
according to the federal requirements regarding State expenditures that
are eligible for matching funds; and (6) provide a consulting service to
persons who desire to export processed or value-added agricultural
products
and assist those persons in ascertaining legal and regulatory
restrictions
and market preferences that affect the sale of value-added
agricultural products
in foreign markets.
