Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.
(15 ILCS 330/2) (from Ch. 124, par. 13)
Sec. 2.
The sum of $3,500,000.00, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
is appropriated to the Secretary of State from the Road Fund for the
acquisition of land, cost of construction, cost of equipment, and including
plans and specifications, and all necessary charges incident to the
completion of the work. For the purpose of acquiring sites for said
buildings, the Secretary of State may, on behalf of the State of Illinois,
acquire public or private property by lease, purchase, or eminent domain.
Expenditures for the construction and equipping of any of said buildings
shall not be subject to the provisions of any law requiring that the State
be vested with absolute fee title to the premises, if such expenditures are
made in connection with and upon premises owned by another public entity.
