(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2027) Sec. 25. Exemptions. (a) This Act does not prohibit a person licensed under any other Act in this State from engaging in the practice for which he or she is licensed or from delegating services as provided for under the Act. (b) Nothing in this Act shall be construed to prohibit or require licensing under this Act with regard to: (1) a traditional birth attendant practicing | ||

(2) a student midwife practicing midwifery as part of | ||

(3) a midwife assistant performing within the scope | ||
| ||
(c) Nothing in this Act prevents a licensed certified professional midwife from assisting a health care professional, practicing within his or her scope of practice while providing antepartum, intrapartum, or postpartum care. (d) Nothing in this Act abridges, limits, or changes in any way the rights of parents to deliver their baby where, when, how, and with whom they choose, regardless of licensure under this Act.
