Sec. 3.
To facilitate such cooperation, each public institution of
higher education as defined in "An Act creating a Board of Higher Education,
defining its powers and duties, making an appropriation therefor, and
repealing an Act herein named", approved August 22, 1961, as amended, is
authorized to establish programs under which qualified students of such
institution provide tutorial services to elementary and secondary school
students who are in need of such
services, as determined and requested by
their respective school districts.
Each public institution of higher education is encouraged to work in
partnership with public schools in this State maintaining any of grades 9
through 12 in order to help assure that all students entering 9th grade in
the 1989-90 school year and thereafter are offered, during their years of
enrollment as high school students, all coursework required to satisfy
statewide minimum admission requirements and standards established by the
Board of Higher Education pursuant to Section 9.07 of "An Act creating a
Board of Higher Education, defining its powers and duties, making an
appropriation therefor, and repealing an Act herein named".
