SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donnie Shockley of Benton, on January 14, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shockley was born on October 20, 1944, in San Francisco, California, to Henry and Ruby (West) Shockley; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shockley was a member of Benton American Legion Post 280 in Benton and a former commander of the post; he was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shockley retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as an engineering technician after 37 years; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shockley is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Jon Jensen; his mother, Ruby Shockley; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Kay Shockley; and his grandsons, Adam David Jensen and Wyatt Juhl Jensen; he was preceded in death by his father; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Donnie Shockley; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donnie Shockley as an expression of our sympathy.
