HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives of the State of Illinois wish to honor Douglas R. Brooks on the occasion of his retirement as Senior Vice President of Burke Beverage, Inc. in McCook; and

WHEREAS, Doug was employed with Burke Beverage, Inc. from 1982 until May 1, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Doug was born in Dubuque, Iowa on May 6, 1948, the son of Ralph and Thelma Brooks; he currently resides in Downers Grove; he met Janet Grobe at the University of Iowa and they were united in marriage in 1972; Doug and Janet have three children, Abigail, Jessica, and Zachary; and

WHEREAS, Doug is a graduate of Northern Illinois University and the University of Illinois, where he obtained his Certified Public Accountant certificate; and

WHEREAS, Doug has served as a director and Treasurer of the Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois and as a director of the Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois Service Corporation; he is a member of good standing with the LaGrange Kiwanis Club and is a member of the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and the Illinois CPA Society; and

WHEREAS, Doug has a passion for his hobbies of golfing, boating, and running, which he will undoubtedly spend more time pursuing during his retirement; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Douglas R. Brooks on the occasion of his retirement from Burke Beverage, Inc. and wish him many enjoyable retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Douglas R. Brooks as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
