SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

70 ILCS 715/3.5 new

Amends the Fire Protection of Unprotected Area Act. Provides that it is the duty of the State Fire Marshal to make all reasonable efforts to ensure that all areas of the State are covered for fire protection and paying an adequate and reasonable fee for that protection. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning fire protection.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Fire Protection of Unprotected Area Act is amended by adding Section 3.5 as follows:

(70 ILCS 715/3.5 new)

Sec. 3.5. Coverage for unprotected areas. After the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 94th General Assembly, it is the duty of the State Fire Marshal to make all reasonable efforts to ensure that all areas of the State are covered for fire protection and paying an adequate and reasonable fee for that protection.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
