| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Gabriel C. "Gabe" Chiaro, who passed | 4 | | away on November 30, 2023; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel | 6 | | Chiaro Sr. in Chicago on September 9, 1943; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro was a notable businessman in the area | 8 | | known for his vibrant personality and charitable heart; he and | 9 | | his young family made a home in Springfield in 1980 and began a | 10 | | long career of thriving family enterprises; he partnered in | 11 | | the opening of Aurelio's Pizza, then went on to open The | 12 | | Horseshoe Pub, Gabe's Corner at the Illinois State Fair, and | 13 | | Gabe's Home Improvement; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro found genuine joy in family | 15 | | gatherings, in honoring his heritage by serving as president | 16 | | of the Roman Cultural Society, and in rooting for his favorite | 17 | | Chicago teams, the Blackhawks, the Cubs, and the Bears; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro built a reputation based on honesty | 19 | | and integrity and left a lasting mark on his community; he | 20 | | leaves behind the memories of a life well lived, full of | 21 | | kindness and a commitment to the greater good; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro was preceded in death by his parents; | 2 | | his brother, Vince Chiaro; and his sister, Nancy (Chiaro) | 3 | | Bossi; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro is survived by his sisters, Rita | 5 | | (Chiaro) Barton and Bernadette Chiaro; his wife of 53 years, | 6 | | Velma Chiaro; his son, Brandon, his wife, Angie, and his sons, | 7 | | Collin and Corbin; his son, Brett, his wife, Kristen, his | 8 | | stepdaughter, Victoria, and his son, Cameron; and his son, | 9 | | Blake, his wife, Erika, his daughter, Cecily, and his son, | 10 | | Conrad; therefore, be it | 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Gabriel C. "Gabe" Chiaro and extend our sincere condolences to | 14 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further | 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Gabe Chiaro as an expression of our | 18 | | deepest sympathy. |
