SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patrick Henry Collins Jr., formerly of
4Wasco, who passed away on September 24, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patrick Collins was born in Roundup, Montana to
6Patrick Henry Sr. and Mary Jane (McCanna) Collins on October 6,
71926; he served in the United States military during World War
8II; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Patrick Collins farmed in Kane County; he was also
10a fulltime heavy equipment mechanic at various local businesses
11and finished his working years with the Kane County Highway
12Department; he and his wife owned and operated the Collins
13General Store in Wasco for over 20 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Patrick Collins served as a Republican Precinct
15Committeeman and on the Wasco Sanitary District Board, both for
16over 30 years; he was a lifetime member of the Kane County Farm
17Bureau, the Wasco American Legion Post, and the Batavia Moose
18Lodge; he was a longtime parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic
19Church in St. Charles; he always found and cherished time with
20family and friends; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Patrick Collins was preceded in death by his

1parents; his wife of 57 years, Julia; his daughter, Mary Jane;
2his brothers, Tom and Jim; and his sister, Jo Nagel; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Patrick Collins is survived by his children,
4Patrick Henry III (Lynn), Darlene (Rick) Shaw, William (Karen),
5Ann Collins, Joan Collins, and Chris (Hope) of Elburn; his
6son-in-law, Michael Klotz; his grandchildren, Christine (Matt)
7Busse, David (Amber) Klotz, Melissa (Noah) Augustine, Katie
8(Clint) Settle, Andrew (Jenny) Scott, Ryan Scott, and Alyson,
9Nicole, Patrick, and Grace Collins; his great-grandchildren,
10Leah, Jackson, Matthew, Cameron, Carter, Halle, Lincoln,
11Grant, Sawyer, McKinleigh, Finn, and Charleigh; his sisters,
12Margaret Hoff, Agnes Holmberg, and Sister Amadea; and many
13other dear relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Patrick Henry Collins Jr., and extend our sincere condolences
17to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
18it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Patrick Collins as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
