SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Charles "Jack" Differding of
4Harvard, who passed away on December 12, 2016 at the age of 68;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, John Differding was born in Chicago to Charles J.
7and Claire E. (Cushing) Differding on February 28, 1948; he
8married Barbara Jo Jensen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Park
9Forest on October 28, 1972; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Differding began his career as a school
11psychologist at SEDOM in 1977; he continued his career there
12until his retirement in 2011; he was a longtime member of the
13National Association of School Psychologists and the Illinois
14School Psychologists Association; he was named "Practitioner
15of the Year" by the ISPA in 1992; he also belonged to the
16Illinois Retired Teachers Association; he was an avid collector
17and seller of sports cards and memorabilia through his
18business, "JCK Sports Cards"; and
 
19    WHEREAS, John Differding was preceded in death by his
20grandparents; his father, Charles; his four uncles and one
21aunt; and

1    WHEREAS, John Differding is survived by his wife, Barbara;
2his mother, Claire; his two children, Christopher (Eva Ambler)
3Differding and Kimberly Differding; his four grandchildren;
4his eight siblings, Jim (Jim Dickes) Differding, Virginia
5Differding, Bill (Linda) Differding, Nancy (Frank) Jones, Paul
6(Laura) Differding, Susan (Jerry) Niendorf, Sally (Craig)
7Berry, and Michael (Dana) Differding; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of John Charles "Jack"
11Differding, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
12friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of John Differding as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
