SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Linda S. Clark, who passed away on May 6, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Linda Clark was born in McHenry on May 19, 1962 and lived most of her life in the western suburbs; she graduated from Johnsburg High School in 1981 and attended the University of St. Francis, where she received a bachelor's degree in social work; and

WHEREAS, Linda Clark worked for the Cintas Fire Protection (formerly Aurora Tri-State) for 32 years; and

WHEREAS, Linda Clark was a frequent volunteer at Hesed House, feeding the homeless, as well as a companion for the elderly; she served on several committees at St. Katharine Drexel and as a religious education teacher; and

WHEREAS, Linda Clark enjoyed taking long walks with the family dog, reading, and spending time with her family at their lake house in Iowa; one of her greatest joys was watching her husband coach his softball players, who lovingly called her "Mrs. Coach"; her greatest pride was her daughter, with whom she was constantly laughing, as best friends do; and

WHEREAS, Linda Clark was preceded in death by her father, Ted Schaefer, and her brothers, Ron and Dan Schaefer; and

WHEREAS, Linda Clark is survived by her husband, Perry; her daughter, Abbey Buckels (Alex); her mother, Donna Schaefer; her brothers, Chuck Schaefer (Kim) and Randy Schaefer (Joan); her sister, Karen S. Hobbs (Darryl); and six nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Linda S. Clark, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Linda Clark as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
