SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elida Cano of Elgin, who passed away on March 5, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Elida Cano married Adrian at the gazebo on Walton Island in Elgin; and

WHEREAS, Elida Cano worked as a tax adviser; she served as a board member for Shared Harvest and the Elgin Hispanic Network; she was active at the Church of Christ in Elgin; and

WHEREAS, Elida Cano took on a mission of spreading awareness of breast cancer among Latinas; she became dedicated to prompting Latinas to do self exams and get mammograms; she encouraged people to value wellness and to proactively stay healthy; and

WHEREAS, Elida Cano is survived by her husband, Adrian; her son, Isaac; and her sister, Evelyn Saldana; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Elida Cano and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elida Cano as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
