SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas "Tom" G. Gordon, also known as "The Greek," who passed away on February 22, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Tom Gordon loved animals and the environment; he enjoyed fishing; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; he offered advice to his children whether they liked it or not; he firmly believed in treating all people with respect; and

WHEREAS, Tom Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Diane and his grandson, Jared Gordon; and

WHEREAS, Tom Gordon is survived by his children, Kevin (Gina) Gordon, Luke Gordon, and Careen Gordon; his grandsons, Josh (Brittney) Gordon and Tyler Gordon; and his many brothers and sisters; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas "Tom" G. Gordon and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Gordon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
