HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Sheriff Jim Padilla on the
4occasion of his retirement as Henry County Sheriff and on his
541 years of faithful service to his community; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Sheriff Padilla was inspired at a young age by his
7teacher to become a police officer, a dream he ultimately
8fulfilled; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Sheriff Padilla started his law enforcement
10career as a police officer in Kewanee, where he served for
11eight years, including time on a multi-jurisdictional,
12bi-state narcotics unit known as the Quad City Metropolitan
13Enforcement Group; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Sheriff Padilla joined the Henry County Sheriff's
15Office on May 27, 1984 as a deputy; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Sheriff Padilla became the sheriff of Henry County
17on December 1, 2010; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Sheriff Padilla has continually improved his law
19enforcement skills as sheriff, taking part in SWAT and FBI
20training programs; and

1    WHEREAS, Sheriff Padilla has worked tirelessly to ensure
2that the Henry County's Sheriff Department is a fully funded
3and professionally equipped force; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Outside of his duties as sheriff of Henry County,
5Sheriff Padilla is a trained firearms instructor and an avid
6outdoorsman; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9congratulate Sheriff Jim Padilla on his 41 years of combined
10service to the City of Kewanee and Henry County, and we wish
11him many happy days of hunting and fishing; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Sheriff Padilla as a symbol of our respect and
14esteem.
