HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives would like to recognize Basler Electric on the occasion of its 75th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Carl Basler started Basler Electric in 1942 in Highland after working in his father's garage from a young age; and

WHEREAS, In the 1950s, Basler Electric began manufacturing power supplies and rectifiers and introduced its first solid state voltage regulator; and

WHEREAS, In the 1970s, Basler Electric developed its first static excitation system to control large utility-scale electrical power generation; and

WHEREAS, In the 1990s, Basler Electric received a patent for the first microprocessor-based voltage regulator and later on introduced the first of a family of digital excitation control systems or DCES; and

WHEREAS, Basler Electric has expanded from Highland to Taylor, Texas; Piedras Negras, Mexico; San Marcos, Texas; Suzhou, China; and Singapore; and

WHEREAS, The core values of integrity, reliability, conduct, and sustainability that Carl Basler instilled in his company 75 years ago still exist in the company today; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Basler Electric on its 75 years of serving Highland; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we wish Basler Electric many years of continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Basler Electric as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
