SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles Ross Halbrook of Granite City,
4who passed away on July 29, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Halbrook was born in Granite City on March
614, 1930 to Connie and Thelma (nee Ross) Halbrook; he served in
7the United States Marines during the Korean War and married
8Judy Kimura on August 13, 1952 in Kyoto, Japan; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Halbrook retired as a supervisor from
10National Steel after 42 years of dedicated service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Charles Halbrook was a member of Suburban Baptist
12Church and Elks Lodge 1063; he enjoyed dancing with his wife,
13especially swing dancing and dancing the jitterbug; he also
14enjoyed golfing, going to the horse races, and spending time
15with his family and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Charles Halbrook was preceded in death by his
17wife, Judy; his parents; his granddaughter, Kimura Halbrook;
18his 2 sisters, Rebecca and Dorothy Halbrook; and his 2
19brothers, Don and Bob Halbrook; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Charles Halbrook is survived by his children,

1Becky (Kerry) Johnson, Woody (Rita) Halbrook, and Jerry
2(Shelly) Halbrook; his grandchildren, Michael (Suzanne), Sara
3(Michael), Sean, Kyle (Ashley), Kelsey (Eric), Christopher,
4and Brett; his great-grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, Mira,
5Joseph, Evelynn, Andrew, and Cale; his brother, Russell
6Halbrook; his special friend, Faye Hillman; and his extended
7family and many friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Charles Ross Halbrook, and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Charles Halbrook as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
