SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond C. Manns of Godfrey, who passed away on April 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Manns was born on July 2, 1921 to William and Theresa (nee Wegener) Manns; he served in the Army-Air Corps during World War II; he married Helen Novotny on September 23, 1950 at St. Alphonsus Church in Brighton; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Manns retired from the Mississippi Lime Co. after over 40 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Manns was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; he loved to paint and play piano and sang in the church choir for over 50 years; he also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and bowling; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Manns was preceded in death by his parents; his 3 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Donald and Gloria Manns, Harold and Marian Manns, Bob Manns, and "Doc" Graham; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Manns is survived by his wife, Helen; his 3 children and their spouses, Mary and Ken Wendle, Susan and Tom Rizzo, and Bill and Ann Manns; his sister, Rosemary Graham; his 8 grandchildren, TJ, Brian, and Brigid Wendle, Tony, Laura, and Amy Rizzo, and Evan and Claudia Manns; and many other relatives, friends, and neighbors; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raymond C. Manns, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Raymond Manns as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
