SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lena Vasile; and

WHEREAS, Lena Vasile was the main fixture at the Onion Roll Restaurant for over 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Lena Vasile was known for her sense of humor; she called everyone "honey" and made everyone laugh; her customers loved her and she loved her customers; and

WHEREAS, Lena Vasile was the devoted mother of Katie (Nick) Cassano and Mario (Crystal) Vasile; the loving Nana of Isabella, Nico, Luca, Joey, and Avalena; the dear sister of John Cardone, Louie (Judy) Cardone, Lisa (Pete) Capellani, Vita (Jack) DeCarlo, Jill Gallo, Frankie (Tina) Cardone, and the late Ralph (the late Darlene) and Lenny Cardone; the dear aunt of many nieces and nephews; and the loving and devoted companion of Bruce Alroth; she is also survived by the father of her children, Carl Vasile; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Lena Vasile; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lena Vasile as an expression of our sympathy.
