SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Warren Carl Behr of Lindenhurst, who
4passed away on February 1, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Warren Behr was born in Oak Park on February 6,
61921; he spent his early childhood in Cleveland; his family
7later moved to Chicago; he graduated from Lane Technical High
8School in 1939 and attended Wright Junior College in Chicago,
9before entering the United States Army; he served in the
10Artillery during World War II; upon returning home, married
11Ruth Helen Collins; they moved to Champaign, where he earned a
12bachelor degree and later a juris doctor degree; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Warren Behr moved to Waukegan with his family,
14where he was a title officer with Chicago Title and Trust;
15later, he was appointed Assistant State's Attorney in Lake
16County; he also served as Waukegan Town Clerk and Waukegan
17Township Supervisor; he practiced law in private practice until
181993, when he and his wife moved to San Benito, Texas; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Warren Behr and his wife returned to Lake County
20in 2002 and moved to the Victory Lakes Retirement Community in
21Lindenhurst, where he was very active in many activities and
22especially enjoyed singing with the Vocalaires group; he was a

1longstanding 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and
2served as Grand Knight; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Warren Behr was preceded in death by his wife,
4Ruth; his son, Theodore; and his daughter, Teresa; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Warren Behr is survived by his children, William
6Behr, Robert Behr, Elizabeth Tilden, Richard Behr, George Behr,
7James Behr, and Margaret Sheets; he was grandfather to Mary
8(Behr) Orozco, Laura (Behr) Jarosz, Anne Marie (Behr) Berman,
9Christopher Behr, Matthew Tilden, Emily (Tilden) Tiwana,
10Michael W. Tilden, Brandon Behr, Whitney Behr, Riley Sheets,
11Courteney Sheets, and Veronica Faber; his great-grandchildren
12are Isabel Dassow, Benjamin Orozco, Charlie Orozco, Joshua
13Tilden, Kieran Tilden, Humza Tiwana, Zahra Tiwana, and Cecilia
14Tilden; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Warren Carl Behr, and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Warren Behr as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
