SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Reverend Jeremy Brooks Robinson of
4Bethalto, who passed away on January 26, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson was born on April 24, 1968 in
6Chattanooga, Tennessee; his parents were Rev. Julian and
7Jeannie Robinson; he married Ginger Sanders in May of 1993; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson graduated from Cleveland
9High School in Cleveland, Tennessee in 1986; he subsequently
10graduated from Lee University in 1990 and the Church of God
11Pentecostal Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in
121993; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Having acknowledged a ministerial calling at a
14very young age, Rev. Jeremy Robinson preached his first public
15message at the age of 10; at the age of 16, he became a
16credentialed minister with the Church of God in Cleveland,
17Tennessee, where he rose to the rank of Ordained Bishop in
181993; he was a popular speaker for local church revivals, youth
19camps, conferences, and camp meetings throughout the country
20and outside the United States, where he also led mission teams
21to China, Brazil, and Paraguay; and

1    WHEREAS, After marrying, Rev. Jeremy Robinson moved to
2Florence, Kentucky, where he and his wife founded the Open Door
3Community Church of God; they co-pastored the Open Door
4Community Church for 12 years before moving to Bethalto in
5February of 2005; and
 
6    WHEREAS, For the past 10 years, Rev. Jeremy Robinson and
7his wife, Ginger, served as Senior Pastor of the Bethalto
8Church of God in Bethalto, a community to which they became
9well-known pastors at large through the church's ministry
10efforts in and around the Riverbend area; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson was elected by his Church of
12God ministerial colleagues at various times to serve as a
13member of the Youth and Discipleship Board in Kentucky and the
14State Councils of Kentucky and Illinois; he was also appointed
15to other boards and committees, including the Pentecostal
16Theological Seminary Board of Directors; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson was preceded in death by his
18mother, Jeannie Robinson; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson is survived by his wife,
20Ginger; 2 daughters, Madray and Mallory; his father, Julian B.
21Robinson, and his wife, Peggy; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law,
22Rev. Jeffrey B. (Carla) Robinson and Carla Robinson, Rev. Mark

1and Delta Schrade, and Aaron and Tonya Barbee; 5 nephews,
2Gabriel and Josiah Schrade, Stone Robinson, and Breckin and
3Brock Barbee; and 2 nieces, Abigail and Lily Robinson;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Reverend Jeremy Brooks
8Robinson; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Rev. Jeremy Robinson as an
11expression of our sympathy.
