HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Janet K.
4Schmidt of Belleville, who passed away on November 30, 2015;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Janet Schmidt was born on September 19, 1959, in
7Chicago; her parents were Hubert G. and Sylvia M. Boxdorfer;
8she married Ricky Gene Schmidt on June 22, 1996; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Janet Schmidt was an Alderwoman for Belleville's
102nd Ward since May of 2013; while there, she served on the
11Finance, Police and Fire, Ordinance and Legal, and Economic
12Development and Annexation Committees; she was also a Precinct
13Committeeman for Belleville's 7th District; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Janet Schmidt was a member of Four Winds
15Fellowship and a board member of Metro East Pride; she also
16served on the Board of Directors at the Center for Racial
17Harmony in Belleville; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Janet Schmidt was preceded in death by her father,
19Hubert G. Boxdorfer; and a brother, Mark Boxdorfer; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Janet Schmidt is survived by her husband of 19

1years, Ricky; her sons, Elijah (Tiffany) Schmidt and Tyler
2(Carolyn) Abide; her daughter, Wilhelmina Schmidt; her
3granddaughter, Olive Louise Abide; and her mother; therefore,
4be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of
8Janet K. Schmidt; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Janet Schmidt as an expression of
11our sympathy.
