HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize the work being done by Operation Care Package; and

WHEREAS, Operation Care Package, based in Manhattan, is an all volunteer not-for-profit organization, dedicated to the goal of making sure that no deployed United States service member goes without mail; and

WHEREAS, Operation Care Package sends out over 150 care packages each week and anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 packages around Christmastime; and

WHEREAS, The care packages contain items that range from hygiene to food, gifts, socks, phone cards, and numerous other items; and

WHEREAS, Among those organizations that work with Operation Care Package are RR Donnelly, the Girl Scouts, the Boy Scouts, 4-H groups, the Will County Farm Bureau, and Coffee Beanery; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the work being done by Operation Care Package and we thank them for their service to those of the United States Military; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Operation Care Package as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
