SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Clair Hogan; and

WHEREAS, Clair Hogan served his country with pride as a member of the United States Armed Forces during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Clair Hogan was a long-time manager at the United States Postal Service and Liquid Carbonic; and

WHEREAS, Clair Hogan was an active member at St. Thomas More; he was involved with Recording for the Blind, Boosters, and the Marist Fathers Club and served as a baseball coach; he was also voted Mayor of 84th Street by his peers; and

WHEREAS, Clair Hogan was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox; and

WHEREAS, Clair Hogan was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary; his brothers, John, Michael, Daniel, Thomas, Bernard, and Emmett; and his sister, Marie; and

WHEREAS, Clair Hogan was the loving father of Kathryn Nilson, Mary Rose (Patrick) Hennessy, Rita (Dr. David) Durkin, Dr. Richard (Deborah), and Kevin (Catherine); the proud grandfather of 18; and the great-grandfather of 11; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Clair Hogan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Clair Hogan as an expression of our sympathy.
