SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lynda Kay McKay, formerly of Carlinville, who passed away on December 4, 2009; and

WHEREAS, She was the daughter of John and Lola Passetti and was raised in Gillespie; she was married to Robert McKay from 1961 to 1979 and they raised three children in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, She graduated from Governors State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989; she worked in real estate for many years; and

WHEREAS, She enjoyed bike riding for many years and completed the nearly 500-mile Annual Great Bicycle Race Across Iowa; she had an article about motherhood published in the Illinois State Journal-Register in 1991; and

WHEREAS, In 2006 she traveled to Guatemala and had lived in the Chicago area towards the end of her life; and

WHEREAS, Lynda McKay is survived by her daughter, Diana Lowder; her sons, Greg and Jeff (Marcy); her grandchildren, Anthony, Reed, Alejandra, and David; and her sister, JoAnne Sawyer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Lynda McKay; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lynda McKay as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
