SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alene A. Selvo of Carlinville, who passed away on September 27, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Alene Selvo was born on January 13, 1918, in Frontenac, Kansas; she was the daughter of Vittorio and Mary Ferrero Selvo; and

WHEREAS, Alene Selvo was a graduate of Carlinville High School; she was employed as a bookkeeper for Farm Credit for several years until her retirement in 1983; she also worked for the Marvel Theatre and the Diane Drive-In; and

WHEREAS, Alene Selvo was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas; and

WHEREAS, Alene Selvo was preceded in death by her sister, Carmelena Selvo; and

WHEREAS, Alene Selvo is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Vittorina Wilson, Delphine (Norman) Paul, and Alvera Costa; her 3 nieces; and her great-niece and great-nephew; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Alene A. Selvo; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alene Selvo as an expression of our sympathy.
