| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of
Perina E. Verticchio of Gillespie, who | 4 |
| passed away on December 9, 2008; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Perina Verticchio was born on July 10, 1916 in | 6 |
| Eagarville; she was the daughter of Peter and Anna Albertini | 7 |
| Erspamer; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Perina Verticchio was a graduate of Gillespie High | 9 |
| School; she earned her bachelor's degree from Washington | 10 |
| University in St. Louis and her master's degree in education | 11 |
| from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Perina Verticchio was a retired elementary | 13 |
| education teacher for Unit District No. 7 in Gillespie, where | 14 |
| she taught for 44 years; and | 15 |
| WHEREAS, Perina Verticchio was a member of Ss. Simon and | 16 |
| Jude Church in Gillespie; she was a member of the Ss. Simon and | 17 |
| Jude Altar Society, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Macoupin County | 18 |
| and Illinois Retired Teachers Association; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Perina Verticchio was preceded in death by her | 20 |
| parents and her brothers, John, Julius, and August Erspamer; |

| WHEREAS, Perina Verticchio is survived by her husband, | 3 |
| Michael P. Verticchio; her stepson, Michael J. (wife, Suzanne) | 4 |
| Verticchio; her stepdaughter, Mary Jo (husband, Douglas) | 5 |
| Handley; her five step-grandchildren; and her many nieces and | 6 |
| nephews; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 8 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 9 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Perina E. Verticchio; | 10 |
| and be it further
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 |
| presented to the family of Perina Verticchio as an expression | 13 |
| of our sympathy.
