| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Albertus G. "Bert" Barber of | 4 | | Springfield, who passed away on March 22, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bert Barber was born to Albertus Gaylord and | 6 | | Thelma Barber in Decatur on July 11, 1931; he attended Bement | 7 | | High School and was raised in Milmine; he was married to Mary | 8 | | Kay Ray for 35 years, and they had two children, Claudette Kay | 9 | | and Gwen Ellen; he married Deloris Barber on October 20, 1990; | 10 | | and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bert Barber worked at Bement Grain Fertilizer & | 12 | | Chemical and Spencer Chemical Company in Milmine, later known | 13 | | as Gulf Oil; he was the manager of the Gulf Oil Fertilizer | 14 | | Plant for 10 years; he was a very successful salesman in the | 15 | | fertilizer business for many years; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bert Barber enjoyed traveling, hunting, and | 17 | | riding snowmobiles with family and friends; he will be | 18 | | remembered for being outgoing and having a great wit; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bert was preceded in death by his parents; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Bert Barber is survived by his wife, Deloris |

| 1 | | Barber; his children, Claudette Kay (Donald) Garber and Gwen | 2 | | Ellen Gotkowski; his grandchildren, Jennifer Kay Garber, | 3 | | Justin Robert (Shannon) Gotkowski, and Blake Elliott | 4 | | Gotkowski; his great-grandchildren, Jason Gotkowski, Jack | 5 | | Gotkowski, Joshua Gotkowski, and Liliana Gotkowski; his | 6 | | nephew, Gaylord Hendrix; his brother-in-law, Richard (Joan) | 7 | | Walter; his sister-in-law, Ellen (Gary) Ahrens; his several | 8 | | nieces and nephews; and his great-nieces and great-nephews; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 12 | | Albertus G. "Bert" Barber and extend our sincere
condolences | 13 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be | 14 | | it further
