1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Ralph Andrew
4 Tolbert II; and
5 WHEREAS, Ralph Tolbert was born on July 18, 1984 to Ralph
6 and Julie Tolbert; he was their second child; and
7 WHEREAS, He attended elementary school in District 144;
8 he attended Hillcrest, Palatine, and graduated from Rich
9 Central High School; he attended Prairie State College and
10 was planning to transfer to Northern Illinois University; and
11 WHEREAS, He grew up in the church and accepted Christ in
12 his early teens at Pure in Heart Missionary Baptist Church
13 under the leadership of Oscar C. Thomas; he later joined St.
14 Mark with his family; and
15 WHEREAS, He was known as "Ralphie Boy" to his friends and
16 enjoyed wrestling, video games, bowling, basketball,
17 football, rapping, and footworking with his brothers; he
18 enjoyed fixing cars, working on houses, and had several jobs
19 and cars; he loved spending time with his family and would do
20 anything for his family; and
21 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by many,
22 especially his parents, Reverend Ralph A. Tolbert and Julie
23 C. Tolbert; his favorite sister, Tiffany Tolbert-Brock
24 (Lamont); his two nieces, Zaria and Kaniya Brock; his six
25 brothers, Chad Tolbert, Jonathan Tolbert, Daniel Tolbert,
26 Julian Tolbert, and James and Jermaine Simmons; his
27 grandparents, James and Esther Simmons; his grandmother,
28 Shirley Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
29 relatives, and friends; and
30 WHEREAS, Ralph was preceded in death by an older brother,
31 Taijuan; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
3 Ralph Andrew Tolbert II along with all who knew and loved him
4 and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends;
5 and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to the family of Ralph Andrew Tolbert II as an
8 expression of our deepest sympathy.
