| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy D. Darrow, who passed away on | 4 | | December 11, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Darrow was born in Kanawha, Iowa; she | 6 | | married Robert Darrow in 1949; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Darrow earned her associate's degree from | 8 | | Iowa State University; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, As a young woman, Dorothy Darrow worked in her | 10 | | uncle's exporting business; in 1960, she and her husband | 11 | | settled in Wheaton, where she took a job as an office assistant | 12 | | at the Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton; she rose through the ranks | 13 | | quickly, eventually becoming the club's general manager, a | 14 | | position she served in for 53 years until her retirement in | 15 | | October of 2013; in addition to her office duties, she worked | 16 | | at the club as a hostess, tended bar, served at buffets, and | 17 | | oversaw kitchen and wait staff; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Darrow will be fondly remembered by her | 19 | | family, friends, and the members and staff of the Chicago Golf | 20 | | Club as a charming and cordial woman whose quick smile and | 21 | | great dedication endeared her to everyone she met; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Darrow was preceded in death by her | 2 | | husband, Robert; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Darrow is survived by her daughters, | 4 | | Debbie and Vicki; her son, Rob Roy; her brother, Robert Darrah; | 5 | | her sister, Doris Ann LaBounty; her 5 grandchildren; and her 6 | 6 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | 9 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Dorothy D. Darrow; and | 10 | | be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Dorothy Darrow as an expression of | 13 | | our sympathy.
