| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Carl H. Roscher of Prairie View, who | 4 |
| passed away on July 10, 2008; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born December 17, 1928 in Highland Park; he | 6 |
| was a graduate of Highland Park High School and was a veteran | 7 |
| of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a carpenter, formerly with Modern Home | 9 |
| Builders; he retired from Levy Construction Company in | 10 |
| Northbrook; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He was active in the community; he served on the | 12 |
| Aptakisic District #102 School Board and the Log Grove Church | 13 |
| Cemetery Board; he was a proud member of the Scroll Saw | 14 |
| Association of the World and a member and former secretary of | 15 |
| the Chicagoland Scrollers; he was a past president of the Long | 16 |
| Grove Fire Department Board, a longtime member of the board of | 17 |
| directors of the Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection | 18 |
| Districts, and an avid Chicago Cubs fan; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and | 20 |
| Frieda Roscher; and his grandson, James Wieser; and

| WHEREAS, Carl Roscher is survived by his wife, Anna Marie | 2 |
| Roscher (nee Sievers); his children, Nancy (Joseph) Wieser, | 3 |
| Edward (Susan) Roscher, and Tena (Michael) Baer; his nine | 4 |
| grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his sister, Rose | 5 |
| (Charles) Heinzelmann; and his brothers, Fred, Robert | 6 |
| (Sharon), and Walter (Sue); therefore, be it
| 7 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 8 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 9 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Carl H. Roscher; and be | 10 |
| it further
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 |
| presented to the family of Carl H. Roscher as a symbol of our | 13 |
| sincere sympathy.
