| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Mary | 4 | | Price, who passed away on March 3, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Price was born on February 23, 1911, in | 6 | | Meridian, Mississippi; she was adopted by Archie and Clarinda | 7 | | Barnes; she married the love of her life, Jack Robert Price, on | 8 | | February 23, 1967; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Mary Price was employed at the Woodmill Hotel on | 10 | | 46th and Woodlawn during the 1960s; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Mary Price joined the Progressive Baptist Church | 12 | | in 1943 under the leadership of the late Rev. T. E. Brown; she | 13 | | was an active member of the church and served on several | 14 | | stewardships within the church, including Sunday School Class | 15 | | #19, the Unity Club, the Senior Citizens Club, and the Bessie | 16 | | Sanford Mission; "Sister or Mother Price", as she was | 17 | | affectionately known, was a faithful member of the church for | 18 | | 69 years; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Mary Price enjoyed gardening, her pets, and her | 20 | | church; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Mary Price was preceded in death by her loving | 2 | | husband, Jack Price, and her brother, John T. Barnes; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Mary Price is survived by her daughter, LaToya | 4 | | Price-Childs; her son-in-law, Daniel K. Childs; her grandsons, | 5 | | Daniel and Kevin; her cousin, Lillie Mae Shack; her | 6 | | sisters-in-law, Ruby Barnes and Adeline Washington; her | 7 | | goddaughter, Theresa Johnson; her best friends, Mylee Funches, | 8 | | Hillman Francisco, Fannie Perry, Nick Childs, Andro Childs, and | 9 | | Blondell Ferrell; and her many other extended family members | 10 | | and friends; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 12 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 13 | | we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of | 14 | | Mary Price; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Mary Price as an expression of our | 17 | | sympathy.
