| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Donald L. "Don" Haskins of Rock | 4 | | Island, who passed away on February 11, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Don Haskins was born to Raymound and Dorothy | 6 | | Haskins in Rock Island on May 11, 1932; he married Jean Behrens | 7 | | at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rock Island on August 2, | 8 | | 1952; he served in the U.S. Army for two years; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Don Haskins owned Don's Barber Shop in Rock | 10 | | Island for 42 years; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Don Haskins was a true family man and had friends | 12 | | everywhere he went; he enjoyed watching Cubs baseball, playing | 13 | | golf, and fishing in Canada with his brothers, sons, and | 14 | | nephews; he was an avid fast pitch softball pitcher for 34 | 15 | | years, and he pitched a perfect game in 1972; alongside his | 16 | | family, he traveled to many state and national softball | 17 | | tournaments and enjoyed playing in the World Softball | 18 | | tournament at Douglas Park; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Don Haskins was preceded in death by his parents; | 20 | | his brothers, Bob, Howard, Jerry, and Wayne; his son, Tim; and | 21 | | his grandsons, Sam, Charlie, and Evan; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Don Haskins is survived by his wife of 69 years, | 2 | | Jean; his children, Tom (Margaret Mary), Ellen (Mike), and Sue | 3 | | (Bryan); his daughter-in-law, Jana; his grandchildren, Chris | 4 | | (Stephanie), Stacie, Brittney (Brandon), Dustin (Renea), | 5 | | Addison, and Henry; and his great-grandchildren, Zach, Cullen, | 6 | | Eliott, Brenna, Jackson, and Eva; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Donald L. "Don" Haskins and extend our sincere condolences to | 10 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
