| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Helen (Kadluboski) | 4 | | Drobnick on the occasion of her 100th birthday on November 9, | 5 | | 2019; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, Helen Drobnick was the fourth of ten siblings and | 7 | | was raised by her parents, who were Polish immigrants, on the | 8 | | family's dairy farm; getting to school meant a seven mile walk | 9 | | if motor transportation was unavailable; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Helen Drobnick arrived in Waukegan in 1943 from | 11 | | Iron River, Michigan, a small town on the Upper Peninsula; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Helen Drobnick married Mark J. Drobnick in 1948 | 13 | | and, for the last 50 years, has lived in the home that he built | 14 | | for her; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Helen Drobnick had a 40-year career with Illinois | 16 | | Bell; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Helen Drobnick's son, Mark H., is a medical and | 18 | | law school alumnus and campaigned for city clerk; she also has | 19 | | a daughter-in-law, Loida, and four grandchildren, Mama, Owl | 20 | | (Mark L.), and Joshua Daniel from Puerto Rico and Linda from |

| 1 | | Illinois; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Helen Drobnick is happy, alert, and looking toward | 3 | | a bright future; she enjoys various activities, including | 4 | | watching Wheel of Fortune, playing cards, reading the News-Sun, | 5 | | gardening, and shopping; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Sharing some of her longevity secrets, Helen | 7 | | Drobnick suggests avoiding bad habits, being active, following | 8 | | doctor's advice, getting adequate rest, going for your polio | 9 | | vaccine, and doing things that bring you joy; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 11 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 12 | | we congratulate Helen Drobnick on her 100th birthday, and we | 13 | | wish her many more wonderful years; and be it further
