| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Donald M. "Don" Turner of Milan, who | 4 | | passed away on December 6, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Don Turner was born in Rock Island on December | 6 | | 15, 1945; he served in the U.S. Navy for four years; he married | 7 | | Michaeline Sue "Mickie" Meyer in Milan on November 29, 1969, | 8 | | and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2019; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Don Turner worked as a lineman for the | 10 | | Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company for many years; he | 11 | | finished his career as an electrician for John Deere and | 12 | | Company, retiring on April 1, 2010; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Don Turner was an avid golfer who made one hole in | 14 | | one, and he was a member of the Indian Bluff Golf Course and a | 15 | | former member of the Pinnacle Country Club; he was also a | 16 | | member of the Milan Rifle Club, the National Rifle Association | 17 | | (NRA), and the American Legion; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Don Turner enjoyed spending time with different | 19 | | groups of friends, playing golf, riding motorcycles, | 20 | | exercising at Rock Valley, and shooting at the Milan Rifle | 21 | | Club; he enjoyed vegetable gardening and taking motorcycle |

| 1 | | trips with his wife, Mickie, in earlier years; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Don Turner was preceded in death by his sister, | 3 | | Pam Buster; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Don Turner is survived by his mother, Bernice | 5 | | Halley; his niece, Katrina (David) Dixon; his nephew, Tim | 6 | | Buster; the members of the Meyer family; and his close | 7 | | friends; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Donald M. "Don" Turner and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Don Turner as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy.
