| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Sol | 4 | | Tannebaum; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sol Tannebaum was a first-generation American who | 6 | | proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II; | 7 | | and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Sol Tannebaum returned to Illinois to attend the | 9 | | Illinois College of Optometry, receiving his O.D. degree in | 10 | | 1948; he subsequently began a 40-year career as an optometrist | 11 | | in Olympia Fields; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Sol Tannebaum was committed not only to the health | 13 | | and well-being of the community he called home, but to the | 14 | | world at large, volunteering on 16 mission trips to provide eye | 15 | | care to the poor in third world countries, serving as a | 16 | | visiting professor at the European College of Optometry, and | 17 | | participating in cooperative eye care programs in the Dominican | 18 | | Republic and China; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Sol Tannebaum loved his home communities of Park | 20 | | Ridge and Olympia Fields and was a beloved member of the South | 21 | | Suburban community; he was known for his regular column in the |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Sol Tannebaum will also be remembered as a devoted | 3 | | husband, caring father, and loving grandfather by his wife, | 4 | | Marilynn; his son, Dr. Ross Tannebaum; his daughter, Lisa | 5 | | Tannebaum Brownstein; his son-in-law, Donald Brownstein; and | 6 | | his grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Chase, and Blake; therefore, | 7 | | be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 9 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 10 | | we, along with his family and friends, honor and mourn the | 11 | | passing of Dr. Sol Tannebaum; and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Dr. Sol Tannebaum as a symbol of our | 14 | | deep appreciation of his service to his country and his | 15 | | community.
