| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Matthew W. "Matt" Williams of Moline, | 4 | | who passed away on September 29, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Matt Williams was born in Moline to Michael and | 6 | | Ronita (Johnson) Williams on January 7, 1968; he graduated | 7 | | from United Township High School in 1986 and married Sheli | 8 | | VanTieghem in Omaha, Nebraska on February 14, 1990; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Matt Williams served in the U.S. Army and worked | 10 | | at the U.S. Army Headquarters Tank-Automotive and Armaments | 11 | | Command in Warren, Michigan; he previously worked at the Rock | 12 | | Island Arsenal, retiring from the U.S. Army after 21 years of | 13 | | service; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Matt Williams enjoyed golfing and was an avid | 15 | | sports fan, including the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Matt Williams is survived by his children, Hayden | 17 | | Williams, Brandon Williams, and Matison (Caleb) Williams; his | 18 | | granddaughter, Brooklynn; his mother, Ronita Duncan; his | 19 | | father, Michael (Nancy) Williams; his sisters, Norma (Rick) | 20 | | Williams, Sammy Williams, and Mandy Williams; his brothers, | 21 | | Neal (Angela) Williams, Mike (Teri) Williams Jr., and Shaun |
