| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Reverend George T. Wooden of Alton, | 4 | | who passed away on September 24, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Reverend George Wooden was born to Elbie and | 6 | | Nancy (Cox) Wooden in Wood River on April 24, 1928; he served | 7 | | in the U.S. Navy; he married Wilma Koelling in Wood River on | 8 | | February 7, 1948, and she passed away in 2013; he married Vonda | 9 | | McGee in Alton on April 19, 2015; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Reverend George Wooden served as a pastor with | 11 | | the Pentecostal church for over 41 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Reverend George Wooden was preceded in death by | 13 | | his parents; his first wife; his stepdaughter, Lavon Rea; his | 14 | | three brothers, Jack Wooden, Edwin Wooden, and Luther Wooden; | 15 | | and his four sisters, Beatrice Hicks, Ann Hicks, Opal Freeman, | 16 | | and Barbara Pettit; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Reverend George Wooden is survived by his sons, | 18 | | Terry Wooden, Kevin (Patricia) Wooden, Ron Wooden, and Dave | 19 | | (Sue) Wooden; his daughters, Regina (Paul) Newby and Chana | 20 | | Wooden; his stepchildren, John (Jayne) Simmons, Bill (Carolyn) | 21 | | Simmons, Sandy Neal, Sherry Simmons, and Valerie (Gary) Payne; |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Reverend George T. Wooden and extend our sincere condolences | 7 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 8 | | it further
