| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William James "Billy" Hansen of Chicago, | 4 | | who passed away on February 3, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Hansen was born on September 20, 1966; as | 6 | | a child, he enjoyed being outside, playing football, | 7 | | basketball, fast-pitch softball, and attending Kellogg Day | 8 | | Camp; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, William Hansen attended Christ the King School and | 10 | | graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep in 1984; he attended | 11 | | Loras College and finished at Benedictine University and | 12 | | married Aniela "Nell" in 1994; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, William Hansen spent his life working in the | 14 | | insurance industry, where his wit and intellect kept colleagues | 15 | | and friends on their toes; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, William Hansen and his family moved to Kansas City | 17 | | in 2003 and Dallas in 2014 before returning to Chicago; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, William Hansen relished coaching his son's | 19 | | baseball games and attending his daughter's basketball games; | 20 | | he was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and Blackhawks; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, William Hansen loved arriving early for family | 2 | | parties to cook and help get everything ready; he enjoyed | 3 | | sharing his famous chili and having family time at Long Beach; | 4 | | and | 5 | | WHEREAS, William Hansen, despite his personal struggles, | 6 | | displayed incredible strength over the last 18 months of his | 7 | | life, helping others learn patience and working to regain his | 8 | | health with the goal of spending more time with his children; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, William Hansen was a loving and adoring father to | 11 | | Aidan Taylor Hansen, Alexandria Grace, and her late baby twin | 12 | | sister, Samantha Lee Hansen; he is survived by their mother, | 13 | | Aniela; he was the beloved son of Kathleen "Kay" (Prindiville) | 14 | | and Leroy R. Hansen; the dear brother of Kelly (Dennis) Gilroy, | 15 | | Julie (Francis) Burns, Christopher (Sheila Manning), and | 16 | | Catherine (Jeffry) Bross; the fond uncle of Courtney (Bryan) | 17 | | Merrigan, Zack, Moira, and Hannah Gilroy, Kathleen, Martin, and | 18 | | Julia Burns, Matthew, Brian, and Joseph Hansen, and Anna, | 19 | | Timothy, and James Bross; the fond nephew to Robert (Joy) | 20 | | Kuchler, Robert (Carol) Hansen, James (the late Muriel) | 21 | | Prindiville, and Michael (Mary) Prindiville; he was dearly | 22 | | loved by many cousins and friends; therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 2 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 3 | | William James "Billy" Hansen, and extend our sincere | 4 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 5 | | him; and be it further
