| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were saddened | 3 |
| to learn of the death of Robert A. Lawless of Peoria on March | 4 |
| 18, 2004; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Lawless was born December 8, 1923 in Peoria | 6 |
| to Harry and Anna Wolf Lawless; he was raised by his | 7 |
| step-mother, Ethel Jennings, from age 9; he married Irene Parr | 8 |
| on December 12, 1942 in Peoria; she preceded him in death in | 9 |
| January 1977; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He later married Dorothy Schmidt on February 2, | 11 |
| 1978; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lawless was a World War II Army veteran; he | 13 |
| owned and operated Lawless Plumbing and Heating in Bartonville; | 14 |
| and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He served on the Bartonville Village Board for | 16 |
| several terms and was a volunteer firefighter for the | 17 |
| Bartonville Fire Department; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lawless was a member of the Lions Club, Elks | 19 |
| Lodge 20, and the Knights of Columbus; and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Robert A. Lawless will be deeply | 21 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Dorothy; his daughters, | 22 |
| Beverly (and Michael) Stender and Barbara Lawless; his | 23 |
| stepdaughter, Linda Etaugh; his stepson, David (and Eileen) | 24 |
| Etaugh; his two grandchildren; and his brother, Dick (and | 25 |
| Lucille); and
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to his first wife, Irene, he was | 27 |
| preceded in death by one sister; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL | 2 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of | 3 |
| Robert A. Lawless along with all who knew and loved him and | 4 |
| extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and | 5 |
| be it further
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 7 |
| presented to the family of Robert A. Lawless as an expression | 8 |
| of our deepest sympathy.
