| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Gene A. "G.A." White of Marion, who | 4 |
| passed away on December 9, 2007; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Gene White, the son of Vernell and Imogene | 6 |
| (Henson) White, was born on September 8, 1942, in Marion; he | 7 |
| was united in marriage to Janet Beasley on July 27, 1963, at | 8 |
| Springhill Baptist Church near Creal Springs, in Williamson | 9 |
| County, and together they shared over 44 years of marriage; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He was owner and operator of G. A. White & Son | 11 |
| Excavating of Marion; he had a love for his work and found | 12 |
| satisfaction in seeing a plan come together; most recently he | 13 |
| was involved in commercial land development and was a partner | 14 |
| with Lynn Holmes and Doug Bradley, in the development of "The | 15 |
| Hill" property located at the intersection of Route 13 and | 16 |
| Interstate 57;
G. A. was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and | 17 |
| former owner of White's Harley Davidson of Marion; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, He enjoyed fishing on Sunset Lake and making trips | 19 |
| to Florida to fish with friends; he was a grain farmer and | 20 |
| enjoyed watching the progress of the crops; he loved his farm, | 21 |
| always enjoying the times he would spend outdoors; he was a | 22 |
| member of Second Baptist Church of Marion and the International |

| Union of Operating Engineers Local 318 of Marion; and | 2 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Vernell | 3 |
| White; his two uncles, Loren and Lawrence Henson, and aunt, | 4 |
| Mary White; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The many memories of G. A. White will be cherished | 6 |
| by all who knew and loved him; he is survived by his mother, | 7 |
| Imogene White; his wife, Janet White; his daughter and | 8 |
| son-in-law, Miki and Chad Stewart; his son and daughter-in-law, | 9 |
| Brandon and Aleah White; his two granddaughters, Marah Alyssa | 10 |
| Stewart and Mariah Lynn White; his two grandsons, Caleb Eric | 11 |
| Stewart and Ethan Scott White; his two sisters and | 12 |
| brothers-in-law, Brenda and Jack Godfrey and Judy and Norman | 13 |
| Darnell; his three uncles, Claude White and his wife, Freida, | 14 |
| Frank White, and Frank Henson; his cousins, David White and his | 15 |
| wife, Diane, Gary White and his wife, Beth, Janice Mestas and | 16 |
| her husband, Teo, Jane Stone and her husband, Doug, Jerry | 17 |
| White, Gail White and his wife, Linda, Bud Henson, and his | 18 |
| wife, Jan, Ron Henson, and Delores Gleckler and her husband, | 19 |
| David; his brother-in-law, Dale Beasley and his wife, Connie; | 20 |
| his sister-in-law, Nancy Stroud; his two nephews, Jeff Beasley | 21 |
| and his wife, Angela, and Dr. Brett Beasley and his wife, | 22 |
| Phoebe; his two nieces, Carie Furlow and Stacia McElhannon and | 23 |
| her husband, Steve; his special family members, Judy and Larry | 24 |
| Davis, Jenny and Jerod Bergeman, and Jon and Melissa Davis, |

| other extended family and many friends; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 3 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 4 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Gene "G.A." White; and | 5 |
| be it further
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 7 |
| presented to the family of Gene "G.A." White as a symbol of our | 8 |
| sincere sympathy.
