1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate John T. Hooker on his
4 promotion at Exelon Energy Delivery; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Hooker holds a Bachelor's degree in
6 marketing from Chicago State University; he has a wealth of
7 experience, having served 35 years in numerous ComEd
8 departments; he has held management positions in industrial
9 relations, marketing, governmental affairs, and regulatory
10 affairs; he has served as ComEd's liaison with City of
11 Chicago officials; his expertise was particularly valuable as
12 ComEd worked to pass and implement the Customer Choice Law of
13 1997 and ongoing initiatives to enhance the development of
14 competition in Illinois; and
15 WHEREAS, As Vice President-Property Management, Exelon
16 Energy Delivery, Mr. Hooker is responsible for managing the
17 property management functions for both ComEd and PECO Energy,
18 including facilities, real estate, and claims; ComEd and PECO
19 serve more than five million customers in Illinois and
20 Pennsylvania; he is also responsible for managing all
21 community relations activities and ComEd's relationship with
22 the Illinois General Assembly, Chicago City Council, and
23 other State agencies; and
24 WHEREAS, Mr. Hooker is active in many organizations, he
25 serves on the boards of directors of the Peoples Consumer
26 Cooperative, a not-for-profit organization providing low-cost
27 housing for the elderly, and the Safer Foundation, a
28 not-for-profit organization helping former offenders find a
29 road to lawful and productive living by offering a variety of
30 programs and services; he is a member of the American
31 Association of Blacks in Energy, an organization that seeks
32 to help increase the number of blacks, and other minorities

1 in energy-related fields; he is also a member of Chicago
2 State University's Business Hall of Fame committee and is
3 involved with the Chicago Public Schools youth motivation
4 program; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Hooker is married to his wife, Kim; they are
6 the proud parents of Felicia Hooker, LaToya Hooker, and
7 Sandor Williams; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10 we congratulate John T. Hooker on his promotion at Exelon
11 Energy Delivery and wish him well in his new position; and be
12 it further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to John T. Hooker as an expression of our respect
15 and esteem.
