| 1 | | AN ACT concerning housing.
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
| 4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Rental | 5 | | Housing Support Program Funding Allocation Task Force Act. | 6 | | Section 5. Purpose. The mission of the Illinois Rental | 7 | | Housing Support Program Funding Allocation Task Force is to | 8 | | implement, monitor, and maintain an equitable allocation of | 9 | | Rental Housing Support Program funds across the State. Since | 10 | | the Program's funding is allocated based on data released by | 11 | | the United States Census Bureau, the recent 2020 decennial | 12 | | census will soon reallocate the Program's funding. Allocations | 13 | | made based upon the 2010 census resulted in a reported 40 | 14 | | counties not receiving any distributions from at least 2014 to | 15 | | 2016, including many of the most impoverished counties in the | 16 | | State. With funding also given to local administering | 17 | | agencies, which many of these counties do not have, multiple | 18 | | counties have reported losing funds they need to other parts | 19 | | of the State. It shall be the charge of the Task Force to | 20 | | develop more level funding allocations with the new census | 21 | | data. | 22 | | Section 10. Task Force. |
