| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James Wesley Long of Silvis, who passed | 4 | | away on December 19, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Long was born in Le Claire, Iowa to Emory | 6 | | and Stella Coffin Long on March 6, 1932; he served in the | 7 | | United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War; he | 8 | | then served for eight years in the Army Reserve; he was | 9 | | discharged with the rank of Corporal in 1962; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, James Long worked for the International | 11 | | Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Rock Island from 1958 | 12 | | until 1983; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, James Long was commander of American Legion Post | 14 | | 246; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, James Long was preceded in death by his parents | 16 | | and his brothers, Robert, William, and Fred Long; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, James Long is survived by his daughter, Karen | 18 | | (Marquel) Reynolds; his son, Kenneth (Kim) Long; and his | 19 | | grandchildren, Kylie Long, Moriah Bangura-Long, Maliyah | 20 | | Reynolds, and Micah Reynolds; therefore, be it
