| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Sharon A. Skaggs of Ashamy, who passed | 4 | | away on December 9, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Skaggs was born in Chicago to Roger and | 6 | | Eleanore (Bjornson) Ashamy on November 1, 1946; she graduated | 7 | | from St. Paul's grade school in 1960 and St. Francis Academy in | 8 | | 1964; she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English in 1968 and | 9 | | her Master of Arts in Speech in 1969, both from the University | 10 | | of Illinois; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Skaggs taught full-time at Triton College; | 12 | | she was a volunteer teacher on the Pine Ridge Indian | 13 | | Reservation in South Dakota and worked in the family clothing | 14 | | store in Coal City (Ashamys); she taught part-time at Joliet | 15 | | Junior College and retired as a City of Joliet parking deck | 16 | | employee; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Skaggs was preceded in death by her | 18 | | parents; her brothers-in-law, Marc Fuchs, and William and Paul | 19 | | Skaggs; and her niece, Angela Rhotten; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Skaggs is survived by her husband of over | 21 | | 41 years, Raymond Gerald Skaggs; her son, Patrick Skaggs; her |
