| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ardon R. "Ardie" Thompson of Silvis, who | 4 | | passed away on November 27, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson was born in Geneseo on May 30, | 6 | | 1943; he served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967; he | 7 | | married Ada Darlene Williams in Fort Hood, Texas on January 14, | 8 | | 1968; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson was employed with Case | 10 | | International Harvester (IH) as an assembly lineman for 36 | 11 | | years, retiring on July 1, 2002; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson enjoyed collecting trains and | 13 | | going to car shows; he also loved going out to eat with his | 14 | | family and his special friend, Sandy; he especially looked | 15 | | forward to Saturday mornings when he would meet up with his | 16 | | fellow retirees for breakfast; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, | 18 | | Darlene; his mother, Bernice Ockee Thompson; his | 19 | | brother-in-law, Wade Williams; and his mother-in-law, Helen | 20 | | Williams; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson is survived by his significant | 2 | | other, Sandra Wenz; his daughter, Kim Thompson; his brother, | 3 | | Ron (Pat) Thompson; his sisters, Zelda (Jimmy) Cowan, Diane | 4 | | "Toot" (Alan) Deets, and Carolyn (Bill) Neal; and many nieces, | 5 | | nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Ardon R. "Ardie" Thompson, and extend our sincere condolences | 9 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 10 | | it further
