| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Metamora Township | 4 | | High School boys basketball team, the Redbirds, on winning the | 5 | | Illinois High School Association 2022-23 Class 3A State | 6 | | Championship; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, The Redbirds defeated Simeon Career Academy of | 8 | | Chicago in the championship game by a score of 46 to 41 in | 9 | | overtime; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The Redbirds shared the overall number one | 11 | | ranking with Simeon; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The Redbirds compiled a record of 34 wins and 2 | 13 | | losses and an undefeated conference record of 14 wins and 0 | 14 | | losses on their way to the championship; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, The Redbirds are coached by Danny Grieves,
Justin | 16 | | Dehm,
Mike Brockhouse,
Patrick Vaughan,
Jordan Dehm, and
Jake | 17 | | Springer; the athletic director is Jared Hart, and the team | 18 | | managers are Nick Sprout and Dru Grieves; and
